Infertility is suspected when a couple is unable to reproduce
within a year of unprotected sex. You might be thinking that infertility
is caused by some type of disease or a real disease which makes it
difficult to conceive. Actually, it's a little of both. There are those
who were naturally born infertile and some were a result of an event
and/or a condition.
Often times, infertility is approached with
exclusivity; no one wants to really talk about a person's inability to
produce an offspring. However, it is a common condition and its causes
are also quite more common than you think.
So what causes infertility anyway?
Aside
from endometriosis, there are other and less talked about causes of
infertility in women. There's early exposure to induced abortion; the
removal of fetus from the uterus using surgical instruments or with the
use of sharp pointed objects in cases of illegal abortion. Some women
who have undergone induced abortion whether through a doctor or by
herself will have trouble getting pregnant later on in life.
Another
cause of infertility is exposure to drug and substance abuse. Drugs and
Alcohol can alter the physiological health of a woman and at the worst
cases, cause infertility. Drugs and alcohol have the same effect on
women like on men, these substances can cause low sperm count in men and
can cause unhealthy, immature egg cells in women. It can also affect
the normal menstrual cycle.
Contraceptive pills can also cause
infertility, well, not directly of course. In time, when you are
dependent on contraceptive pills for protection you are actually putting
your self at risk for developing reproductive cancer like ovarian and
uterine cancer. Lastly, infertility can also be congenital or you were
born with it.
Nevertheless, medical technologies and wonders
cannot be stopped by the different causes of infertility in women
because these technologies are sprouting everywhere and women who are
infertile can be given a chance to become mothers themselves.
